I've seen some disturbing things in my day

Here's what I saw this morning. I turn on Sesame Street to buy myself some precious shower time only to find this scene:

Bob (who is 70 if he is a day) dressed in short pants with suspenders, a shirt and what appeared to be a dunce cap, all festooned in triangles, sings, "Triangle Bob Trianglepants" repeatedly to the tune of the Spongebob Squarepants theme.

I know that Sesame Street tries to stay "current" and I'm quite sure I missed a lot of references in my youth, but the ones I have seen since my own children have started watching the show have been pretty depressing. Dr. Feel facing off with Dr. Phil in an argument over whose set the show was being taped on? Give me a break.

Ugh. The worst part is it's not even clever. The other dude's name isn't Square Bob Squarepants it's Sponge Bob because he's a walking sponge. Bob should call himself Human Bob Triangle Pants or Flesh Bob Triangle Pants. And why a dunce cap? Sesame Street has been lame ever since Elmo took over the show. Worst muppet ever.

is it true that the cookie monster is now the veggie monster? that's what the kids in my class tell me.

Cookie monster is still called "Cookie" but he has expanded his nutritional repertoire dramatically. Now, he just has cookies for dessert. Lame. He needs our Whole Grain Chippers recipe, obviously.

Do you remember 4 or 5 years ago when Jamie and I were up there with you and we were all excited to watch some new Muppets special movie that was on? I recall it being the most disappointing, frustrating and irritating 2 hours of my life. It was riddled with pop culture references geared toward parents, not kids. Angers up the blood, I tells ya.

got to put in my two cents about cookie monster...it was riley's favorite show for a while...
i think the media jumped on this story blowing it out of proportion (shocking!) really they just added one segment where cookie actually likes and eats vegetables. they play it occasionally. other than that he's up to his same old tricks eating prarie dawn's cookies and then the letter of the day!

That muppet movie was absolutely awful. I vaguely recall Kermit shouting that he wished he'd never been born and some bizarre scene involving Scooter in an S&M club. We will NOT be screening that one with the kids.

I distinctly remember Kermit not only saying he wished he'd never been born but repeating over and over that he wished he were dead. Horrifying. And then Scooter dancing in a cage while wearing hot pants. And Kermit's voice is completely wrong. Jim Henson's son is a terrible voice actor and the muppet wonderful life is an absolute abomination.

Hi!! I was told this is where the Sesame Street/ Muppets fan club meets. I'm so glad to finally find people who enjoy. . . wonderful puppets . . um . . well. . it appears there has been some horrible mistake. from the looks of the comments above, you people are more into blasphemy and such. you wouldn't know precious moments if they bashed you over the head. TRIANGLE BOB TRIANGLEPANTS FOREVER!!!!

Oh God, I forgot about Scooter being sold into sexual slavery. What the hell were they thinking?
