I always thought that the expression about March coming in like a lion and going out like a lamb involved the behaviors of those animals.

let's burn down the Farmer's Almanac headquarters!
Just wondering what a VT winter resembling a lion would look like?
K
A VT winter resembles a mangy lion when the snow finally starts melting and all the grass is yellow and matted to the ground. So, I am taking it upon myself to adjust the saying to reflect this.
"In like a mangy lion, out like a snow white lamb."
